Microsoft is supposedly working on a new web-based tool that will allow you to migrate your Xbox Live account to a new region with just a few clicks.
According to the report by Neowin, which is yet to be confirmed by Microsoft, the new service is currently in testing but will soon be set live.
Testers have reported that they are allowed to migrate their accounts to a new region once every three months, and doing so transfers their gamer tags, achievements, MS points and time left on their Gold subscriptions without a hitch. Not everything will transfer across though; services that are region locked, such as Sky TV in the UK, won't be moved and nor will Xbox Music passes.
Changing regions on Xbox Live has long caused gamers a headache, with the current system taking anywhere up to six weeks and often involving calls to Microsoft support. This now means if you move country you'll be able to buy local MS points cards and access content available exclusively in that region without problems.
IGN has reached out to Microsoft for confirmation about the report and we'll update the story once we receive a response.
