American Horror Story fans are wondering where the series will go in its third season given that everything from Nazi’s, aliens, genetic mutations, slashers and the Black Dahlia have already been covered on the show.
Co-creator Ryan Murphy sat down with EW recently to discuss this season and tease a bit about the next. Take a look at what he had to say about a potential setting for Season 3 below, and head over to EW for the full interview.
"I don’t think anything could ever be as dark as the mental health care system in our country. I sorta feel like for the third version I want to do something that’s a little bit more “evil glamour.” Just something that’s a little bit more…one of the things that I missed this season was I really loved having that Romeo & Juliet youth story with Violet and Tate. I want something like that again and we’re doing something like that in the third season. And we’re contemplating shooting the show in a different place. We’re contemplating shooting it in a place in the country where true horror has been. We’ve got lots of delicious plans."
- Jessica Lange in American Horror Story: Asylum
Here’s my guess based on the above: Since the “evil glam” of L.A./Hollywood was covered in Season 1, Season 3 will explore the “evil glam” of the fashion industry.
Here’s how it goes down:
A magazine travels to Gettysburg (one of the most haunted cities in the U.S.) to shoot a Union/Confederate army uniform haute couture stunt spread, only to stumble upon an abandoned cabin where a Union officer and his southern belle lover met their unfortunate end at the hands of her Confederate General father.
Can you hear the echoes of the rebel yell…rebel yell.
I propose Jessica Lange as a vicious fashion editor or southern witch. Or both. They haven’t done reincarnation yet on the show.
Pitching it now. What’s yours?
