Developer Runic Games recently announced on its Twitter feed that Torchlight II has sold one million copies. Released in September of 2012, Torchlight II is a loot-driven action-RPG where you beat up enemies, acquire gear, level and learn new skills in the interest of building the most efficient monster slayer. It's a much larger game than the original Torchlight, and allows you to play solo or team up with others to quest and clear dungeons.
It was released after multiple delays, and prior to its launch there was speculation that interest in Torchlight II might have been significantly impacted by the release of Diablo III in May 2012.
While the original Torchlight was released on PC and later through Xbox Live, Torchlight II is for now PC only. It was rated 9.1 out of 10 on IGN.
