Comic Book Cover of the Week: 1/3/12 All-New X-Men #5 kicks off a year of awesome covers.

What better way to kick off 2013 in comics than with some gorgeous cover work? In an effort to keep track of all the wonderful cover art throughout the year, we'll be doing a weekly pick for our favorite piece. Certainly nothing new, but it's high time we gave the art of the cover a bit more attention.

This week's pick goes to Stuart Immonen, Wade von Grawbadger, and Marte Garcia's beautiful cover for All-New X-Men #5:

A righteous collage of Jean Grey's many different incarnations -- with the ominous Phoenix Force lurking in the background -- this is one of those rare covers that not only is representative of what the interiors hold, but is also a poster-ready piece of work that would be a must-own for any self-respecting Jean Grey fan. The delicate work of all three artists comes together in fine fashion to gracefully depict the complex and tragic history of Marvel's favorite redhead.

What was your favorite cover of the week?
