Dark Souls Director Miyazaki Working on New Game Will it be a new IP or a sequel?

In an issue that drops the first details on Dark Souls 2, Edge Magazine has also reported that the series' creator and director Hidetaka Miyazaki is working on a brand new game.

Miyazaki has stepped back into an advisory role for Dark Souls 2 after Namco and FROM took the decision to appoint two new directors for Dark Souls 2 to take the series in a new direction. Instead Miyazaki is evidently working full-time on another project.

There are absolutely no details on that project - we don't even know whether it's something new, or a sequel to something else. But rest assured, we'll be following it very closely indeed. Given Miyazaki's generally secretive nature, we may not know more for a while.

Dark Souls fanatic Keza MacDonald is in charge of IGN's games coverage in the UK. You can follow her on IGN and Twitter.
