Stranger Than Fiction Writer to Pen Jumanji Remake Zach Helm will write the family adventure reboot.

Writer Zach Helm, best known for his work on Stranger Than Fiction, is now set to pen a Jumanji remake for Columbia Pictures.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Matt Tolmach and Bill Teitler will produce the film, which will be based on the 1981 book by Chris Van Allsburg. Jumanji was already adapted for the screen once back in 1995 and starred Robin Williams.

The story follows two kids whose board game comes to life and frees a man who was trapped in there decades earlier. Once free, the man and the children must work together to quell the game's power.

The remake was announced earlier this summer, with the intent of creating "an update for the present."
