THQ Documents Reveal Unannounced Games Projects by Vigil, Relic, Turtle Rock and THQ Montreal get codenames.

Following THQ’s decision to file for bankruptcy earlier today, court documents have revealed the codenames and timeframes of multiple upcoming projects.

According to THQ’s petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy filed with the United States district court in Delaware, Darksiders developer Vigil “is now developing a game with the working title Crawler,” and Company of Heroes developer Relic is working on “a new game with the working title Atlas for release in calendar year 2014.”

Turtle Rock Studios is said to be “developing a co-op multiplayer action game” codenamed Evolve, while THQ Montreal is developing the “as-yet-untitled” game from Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Desilets, listed later in the document as 1666. Previously known titles also listed include WWE 14 from developer Yuke’s Media Creations, Homefront 2 from Crytek UK and Saints Row 4 from Volition, “which is scheduled for release in calendar year 2013.”

The document also includes a time table of the product development budget expected to be allocated to each project from now until the end of THQ’s 2017 fiscal year. The table suggests that development on 1666 will last into THQ’s 2016 fiscal year (which begins on April 1, 2015), that Evolve will last until the 2015 fiscal year and that Saints Row 4 will be completed by the end of fiscal 2014. In a separate chart, THQ also estimates the amount of units each title will sell worldwide, pegging Saints Row 4 at 5 million, Homefront 2 at 4 million, and Evolve and 1666 at 4 million each. These are estimates, of course, but an interesting glimpse into THQ’s projected timeline.

Many of the listed titles have been hinted at in the past. 1666 was outed by a trademark in March and THQ later registered related domains in July. THQ has also discussed the next Saints Row and THQ announced the sequel to Homefront last year. Desilets, meanwhile, joined THQ Montreal in October 2010.
