Homeland and Game Change Lead 2012 TV Golden Globe Nominees Less love for Mad Men this year.

The 2012 Golden Globe nominees and, per usual, there are some eyebrow-raisers on the TV side. Mad Men was not nominated on the drama side this year, while the far more critically divisive The Newsroom was. Also surprising is the nomination for Smash, which had a ton of criticism and has had a creative overhaul going into Season 2, with the showrunner replaced.

HBO's TV-Movie Game Change and Showtime's Homeland's tie for the most nominations this year, with four each. Remarkably, this is the first series nomination for Breaking Bad at the Golden Globes, while the Globes continue to show a lot of love for Showtime's Episodes. Game of Thrones was shut out this year, after receiving nominations for drama and supporting actor last year - with Peter Dinklage winning in the latter category.

One cool first time Globe nominee? Benedict Cumberbatch for his widely-praised performance in Sherlock.
